Steel offers not only incomparable strength and durability but also resistance to wear and tear and exposure to the elements. When needed we can add durable cladding, as well as offering temperature control when it’s needed. Across the UK we’re seeing record temperatures and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of it getting any cooler – certainly not any time soon. Luckily, air conditioning is available pretty much everywhere, and that certainly includes steel buildings.
How does air conditioning work?
Air conditioning units use chemicals to convert a gas to a liquid and then back again quickly. These chemicals transfer the heat from the air inside your property to the outside air.
The air conditioning unit has three key parts; the compressor, the condenser, and the evaporator.
Generally, an AC unit’s compressor and condenser are located in the outside part of the air conditioning system. You will usually find the evaporator inside the house.
The cooling fluid reaches the compressor as a low-pressure gas and the compressor squeezes the gas/fluid, until the molecules in the liquid are packed closer together. The closer the compressor forces these molecules together, the higher the temperature and energy rise.
The air conditioner sucks air into the ducts through a vent. This air is used to cool gas in the evaporator, and as the heat is removed from the air, it’s cooled. There are ducts that then blow air back into the house.
So whatever you need to store this summer, for work or for fun, National Steel Buildings have a solution for almost every requirement. With over 20 years of experience, we can help with what you need to keep your cool.
